Back From Hawaii

Video will be available shortly.

Just home from a trip to Hawaii, the Chairman of the Pitt County Commissioners says, it was worth it. Mark Owens, along with nearly 200 other North Carolina County Commissioners, were among those from across the country attending a conference in Hawaii, at taxpayer expense. While the conference drew criticism from some taxpayers, Owens, says his focus while attending the National Association of Counties Conference in Honolulu was researching potential solutions to Pitt County's water and sewer problems.
Several other commissioners from Pitt, Craven and Martin counties also attended the conference, but have not returned yet, as they chose to stay a few extra days at their own expense.
