The Reasons Prices Are Spiking at the Pumps

The ripple effects of Hurricane Katrina are taking their toll on our wallets across Eastern Carolina as the gasoline prices surge upwards. Economists say the gas supply is down because of fewer oil rigs; refineries are without power in Louisiana and Mississippi. All of these things combined are causing prices to spike at the pump.
