Commissioner Of Labor Honors Local Workers

The Commissioner of Labor was in the Beaufort County town of Aurora Tuesday morning. Cherie Berry was on hand to help honor more than 100 PCS Phosphate employees, who received certificates of completion in the Department of Labor's apprenticeship and master craftsman program. The program is a training system that helps employees improve and expand their job skills, which in turn helps their companies to be more competitive. The commissioner will honor 100 more employees Wednesday. Sixty-two trades at PCS Phosphate are registered as part of the program. Examples include chemical plant operator, heavy equipment operator, and mine services.
