Airshow On Outer Banks

There's a free airshow on the Outer Banks Thursday, celebrating four decades of naval air superiority. The Dare County bombing range North of Stumpy Point on the mainland was the site of the first successfully dropped laser guided bomb. Thursday morning beginning at 8 a.m., you can see F-18s, F-16s and A-10s drop smoking practice bombs and maybe even see some live cannon fire from 20 millimeter guns. Stumpy Point bombing range is on Highway 264 between Englehard and Mann's Harbor.
