Visitor's trying to beat the heat Monday at Hammocks Beach State Park in Onslow County also got to take home some pretty nice souvenirs. A monster Conch shell found on the beach was one of the biggest this summer, according to lifeguards and rangers. But, big shell finds on the uninhabited island have been better this summer, since the dredging project last winter wrapped up at Bogue Inlet. The new channel has been stirring up all kinds of treasures.
