A winter weather advisory is in effect until 7am on Saturday for Beaufort, Mainland Hyde, Martin, Outer Banks Dare, Tyrrell, Washington and western Dare County. The threats are black ice and slick roadways.
The devastation left by Hurricane Katrina has people all over the country on stand by, waiting for their call to come in and help with the relief efforts. The co-captains of the Pitt County's sheriff's office Swift Water Flood Emergency Response team are gearing up, as they wait for their order to deploy. If Sergeant Bennie Dobbs and Detective J.P. Stancil are called upon, they could be sent anywhere between Louisiana and West Virginia to help out with water rescues.
