Oil prices continue to rise, part of the reaction to Katrina's shutdown of Gulf Coast oil facilities. One convenience store chain based here in North Carolina says it gets 90 percent of its fuel supply from the Gulf. The Pantry operates 1300 stores in the Southeast U.S., including Kangaroo stores. The national average is expected to be more than $2.70 a gallon by this weekend. Prices higher than that are already popping up in Eastern Carolina. One gas station in Washington changed its price to $2.84 a gallon for regular Tuesday. And it's not the only one. Starting Monday night and into Tuesday, there were a lot of people racing to get to the pumps before the inevitable.
