A winter weather advisory is in effect until 7am on Saturday for Beaufort, Mainland Hyde, Martin, Outer Banks Dare, Tyrrell, Washington and western Dare County. The threats are black ice and slick roadways.
Governor Mike Easley is warning state residents here in North Carolina, that there could be potential flooding and landslides in the mountains in the western part of our state. The state could get soaked from the remnants of Hurricane Katrina. The Governor says as much as eight inches of rain could fall in the state.
