MV-22 Osprey Gets the Thumbs Up

The troubled MV-22 Osprey is getting a thumbs up from the Chief of Marine Corps Aviation. During a demonstration Wednesday at Marine Corps Air Station at New River, Lieutenant General Mike Hough said the aircraft should be ready for full time duty by 2007. Officials say the Corps is preparing a report to Congress most likely recommending lawmakers approve purchasing hundreds of the aircraft. The Osprey was grounded for about 18 months after a pair of crashes in 2000 that killed 23 servicemen in Arizona and here in North Carolina.
