WITN's Audrey Washington conducted an exclusive one-on-one interview with Senator Barack Obama during his stop in Fayetteville.

Obama said the Iraq war has left the United States less safe. He says
the war has encouraged al-Qaida, the Taliban, Iran and North Korea. Obama says "the war has cost us 12 billion dollars a month that we could be investing in America and I think its very important that we rebuild a strategy that goes after Al Qaida."

Obama says if elected he would start bringing the troops home one to two brigades each month.

When it comes to taxes, Obama says, "I want to give a middle class tax cut to people making $75,000 a year or less, put more money in their pockets to deal with rising costs."

Obama also criticized Democratic rival Hillary Clinton and likely
Republican nominee John McCain. Obama says they talk tough on
national security but make decisions that leave the country less
secure.

I think this interview was fantastic! I can't believe we have such an awesome candidate like Obama. I'm proud of WITN and Audrey Washington for getting the interview and bringing it to us in the East. Wonderful! Even moreso, I will be casting my vote for Barack Obama because he's going to change this country and the world!

I find it interesting no one is asking Bush any hard questions. All Cindy Sheehan wanted was for Bush to explain the Downy Street Memos.

Amen Mary Jane of Washington. As for you Nick, don't vote then. CRX out of Charleston, you made some good points. Mary of Greenville, please stop bashing the reporters. Some people make such disrespectful comments. Can you think of some other unbiased questions? Have empathy people.

I can't believe WITN had the opportunity to talk one-on-one with Obama and the reporter you sent decided to ask questions that every other journalist in America has already asked. Come on! Where are your reporting skills. I usually watch 9 and flipped to 7 when I heard about this interview. I was very let down!

Who could be worst than Bush? We are spending 12 billion a month for an illegal war. Gas is nearly $5 a gallon and the US Dollar is worth less than Canada's monopoly money.

If Barack Obama was the only choice I had to vote for, I would not vote. There are too many contradictory things going on with him. I hope and pray that this county is not left up to him to rule.

Lies, lies and more lies!!!!!!This man would not know the truth if it jumped up and slapped him in the face.

Some people will vote for this man because of the color of his skin and there are some that will vote for Clinton because of her gender....NOT knowing or even caring what the person stands for. People WAKE up race and gender should not be a factor in how you vote.

Of course he wants to bring our troops home.....but not for the reasons most would assume.....Lies-- he is all about lies. The only way I would believe anything that this man had to say was if I was standing right in front of him and could see it.....then I would only believe half....faith is believing in something you have not yet seen....well I have no faith in this man what-so-ever. If he is elected president we will NO longer be a STRONG Nation!!!People, bring prayer back into the USA....pray for our GREAT Nation, Please!

Barrack Obama presents US people an opportunity to redeem its image as an oppressor and thus reduces the possibility of new recruits to terrorism world wide which is the only viable guarantee to American national security for its people. No people can permanently immune themselves against the consequences of their disastrous/ terrible actions, however powerful and mighty they can be. And understanding of this is the only credible alternative for permanent peace and security world wide, which the US can preach and lead by example and once again regain its moral leadership it enjoyed since world war 2.

It's amazing how quick people are to pass judgment. You're right, how much do YOU know about this person?
