Highway 64 Bypass Opens Around Knightdale

Video will be available shortly.

A $175,000,000 freeway by-passing traffic on Highway 64 around Knightdale in Wake County opened Friday. The highway rerouting traffic around the city of Knightdale instead of through it is anticipated to trim almost 15 minutes off the west and eastbound commute. The stretch of highway between the suburb of Knightdale and Wendell in recent years has caused bottlenecking and increased accidents for folks traveling through Wake County. The bypass track is 4 lanes from with a 70 mile per hour speed limit.
