Video: Big Drug Dealer Arrested
The Greenville Drug Task Force has been following this suspect for the last eighteen months. And in that time, lawmen say they have watched this man and his organization bring cocaine into the county by the kilos on a monthly basis. Authorities have arrested 35-year-old Darren Arness Staton. Lawmen recovered over $12,000 in cash and more then 400 grams of cocaine with a street value just under $41,000. Staton is being charged with numerous counts of cocaine trafficking, and possession with intent to sell and deliver. Both the Greenville police department and the Pitt County sheriff's department were involved in the arrest. Lawmen say Staton's arrest will have some impact on the county's drug war. He's currently in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $6 million bond.
