North Carolina Takes Fight to Capitol Hill

North Carolina representatives took their case for keeping military installations open to the nation's Capitol Wednesday. North Carolina's hour-long presentation before the Base Realignment and Closure committee centered on keeping Pope Air Force Base and its transport planes. State leaders agreed with other parts of the BRAC plan to relocate other major army units to Fayetteville, but disagreed with the move of vital aircraft away from the 82nd Airborne Division and Special Operations units at Pope.
