Grand Prix Wraps Up

Major engines and one major spray of wake behind, that's what boats revving along the Pamlico River in Beaufort County showed off Sunday.

The 4th Annual Fountain Power Boat International Super Boat Grand Prix kicked off its final day of racing action at one o'clock Sunday afternoon, but the main event started at 3 p.m. sharp. Thousands lined the waterfront along Whichard's Beach in Chocowinity trying to catch a glimpse of the boats basically flying on the top of the water. It was perfect excitement for all ages.
