Lenoir County Highway Patrol Troopers were on the scene of a what was called in as a pedestrian being hit by a car. Troopers say that it happened around 7:42 Saturday evening, on the Green-Haynes Road off of Highway 55. Troopers say the pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a vehicle. The identity of the victim is unknown at this time, as is how the accident occurred.
