A steamy start to the holiday weekend didn't stop organizers and vendors at the Croaker Fest in Pamlico County.
For the 27th year, the waterfront town of Oriental is playing host to the Croaker Fest. It's a weekend of fun, food and entertainment named after the Croaker fish.
The weekend's events kick off Friday night with the Pamlico Chorale, but vendors and festival organizers were bust setting up tents and laying out merchandise, all while trying to stay cool.
The festival highlight is a giant fireworks display Saturday night on the Oriental harbor.
