Belhaven Woman Crosses Center Line and Hits Truck

A terrible accident in Beaufort County Friday morning claimed the life of a Belhaven woman. Lawmen say 68-year-old Syble Annette Alexander of Belhaven was killed when she crossed the center line on Highway 264 North of Bath around 9:30 Friday morning and hit a tractor trailer head on. The truck driver suffered only minor injuries, but the accident did temporarily close both lanes of traffic. No charges will be filed.
