A 16-year-old is facing multiple charges after authorities say he nearly missed striking a Halifax County patrol car.

Deputy Randy Keeton was traveling south on Highway 48 Friday when he saw an SUV in his rear view mirror approaching him at a high rate of speed. The deputy had to speed up to avoid a collision as the other driver locked up his brakes and slid sideways on the road.

Bradley Johnson was charged with more than just reckless driving.

The deputy says he found cocaine, marijuana and a .38 handgun in the car. The teen is charged with careless and reckless driving, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon.
