Dry But No Water Shortage

The sounds of summer have included a lot of sprinklers lately. Dry conditions and brown lawns though may be deceiving. While much of the area has seen little or no rain as a total for the entire year, we aren't that far from normal for this time of year. City officials in Washington, Jacksonville and Williamston say they aren't having problems with water shortages. It's a sentiment echoed by Greenville Utilities officials too. In fact, if the water treatment plant in Greenville were to use more than 20,000,000 gallons of water per day for three days straight, only then they would ask customers to scale back water usage. Officials say the highest demand day so far has been 13,000,000 gallons.
