Voters Looking for Paper Verification

After a voting flub that left thousands of Carteret County voters in a whirlwind of confusion after their votes were lost during last years presidential election, voters there want to send a clear message to legislators.

In regards to Bill 223 that's waiting to pass in the senate, Carteret County voters tell WITN they want to make sure that legislators enforce it. Bill 223 will re-assure residents of there ballots by providing a paper record on site immediately after their vote is cast. Carteret County voters will soon go to the polls for municipal elections. The North Carolina Coalition for Verifiable Voting is backing the proposed bill. A touch-screen voting machine failed to record more than 4400 Carteret County during last years election.
