On the heals of a retirement announcement from the current Superintendent of Pitt County schools Michael Priddy, the first of a series of six forums held by local board of education members will commence Monday night.
The first public forum will begin at 7 p.m. at D.H. Conely High School where education officials are asking for the community to come voice what they desire in a new superintendent. The school system has hired the state board association to help them find qualified candidates. That search costs approximately 10,000 dollars. Michael Priddy told the public he was leaving in March, and school board officials want his position filled by October. Pitt County school officials have also set up an online survey asking for the publics desires in a future candidate.
