The official start of the Big Rock Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament may be a couple of day's away, but that didn't keep the women from casting their lines in their own competition.
Lady anglers dropped their lines off shore around 8 a.m. Saturday morning as part of the 8th Annual Big Rock Lady Angler Tournament, and just like the major tournament there was plenty of money to win here as well, with a purse of nearly 14,000 dollars. Also the number of boats in the water was a record high of 56, so officials say its a great way to kick off the tournament.
The Big Rock Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament kicks off on Monday, and WITN will have extensive coverage featuring live broadcasts, and of course the fish weigh-ins.
