A two mile stretch of the Albemarle Sound shoreline is still closed, as health officials try to find the source of medical waste that's been washing up there. The police tape stretching away from the Beech Bay neighborhood marks the spot where three dozen syringes were picked up Tuesday. The only new information is that an unidentified material dragged ashore by a pet turned out to be some kind of mushroom, unrelated to the syringes found there.
