Agency Claims It's Owed Money

A community based service provider claims it's owed several hundred thousand dollars from the Pitt County mental health department. Dependable Case Management, a Greenville based agency that provides care to mentally and physically handicap children is one of several agencies claiming the Pitt County mental health department is in the red when it comes to reimbursing them for their services. Andrea Smith, director of Dependable Case Management, believes her company is owed several hundred thousand dollars from the mental health department. Pitt County mental health director Debra Dihoff says claims are processed efficiently, but sometimes get backed up due to new, more stringent requirements providers have to meet. Dihoff says errors made on claim forms can also slow down the process.
