Police say a Pitt County woman was set on fire and burned to the bone on some parts of her upper torso. The Pitt County Sheriff's Department has arrested Perlie Nelson's boyfriend, 50-year-old John Lee Michaels, Junior. The sheriff's department says Michaels told lawmen he and Nelson were grilling out when she suddenly caught on fire. Authorities say they examined two grills found on the property and neither one had been used that night. Nelson was taken to Chapel Hill Burn Center and was last listed in critical condition. Michaels is charged with attempted murder.
