Adopt-A-Cat Month

If you ever wanted to adopt a cat or kitten now is the perfect time to do so. The month of June has been designated as adopt a shelter cat month in Pitt County. The Pitt County Animal Shelter has cages full of kittens and adult cats that need a good home. Shelter officials say if these felines don't get adopted they will unfortunately be forced to put them to sleep. Shelter spokesperson Michelle Whalley says the $35 adoption fee for kittens includes spay and neutering, and $45 for cats.
