2005 Hurricane Prediction

The Southeast, including North Carolina, could be in for a long hurricane season. The National Hurricane Center released its prediction for the upcoming season, which starts June 1 and runs through November 30. The outlook calls for 12 to 15 tropical storms, seven to nine of them becoming hurricanes, and three to five of those major hurricanes with winds of at least a-hundred-and-eleven miles-per-hour. The prediction is close to what did happen last year. The 2005 forecast was based on factors like air pressure, winds and surface temperature.
