Preparing Is Key

Video will be available shortly.

Hurricane season is just around the corner. High winds and heavy rains are nothing new to those who live and work along the coast. It only takes one storm to wipe away everything. That's the lesson some homeowners have learned the hard way, while others say being prepared has helped their home sustain minimal damage, despite massive blows from Mother Nature. Residents and businesses we talked to along the Atlantic Beach waterfront say boarding up and tying down loose items at least a day before the storm hits is a must. The last major storm to strike near the Atlantic Beach area was Hurricane Isabel in 2003.
