Authorities say an Elm City woman was beaten so badly this weekend that she died in the hospital. The suspect? Her husband. Wilson County lawmen arrested 34-year-old Archie Bryant, after a high speed chase near the Nash-Wilson county line. The search for Bryant started after lawmen had been called to Bryant's home, where they found Pam Bryant, badly beaten in her bed. Lawmen arrested her husband on assault charges Saturday. But after his wife died yesterday, lawmen charged him with murder.
