10 courses, teams of four, and a drive to play an interesting little game loved by many in Eastern Carolina is what drew people to Point Place in the town of Bath Sunday.
Croquet, it was the sport of choice for our very own Dave Jordan and dozens of players in the 2nd Annual Cut-Throat Croquet Tournament enjoyed in the oldest town in the state right here in Beaufort County. More than a hundred players showed out to register for the game that began around 11 a.m. Sunday morning, establishing a memorial scholarship in honor of Preservation Pioneers of Bath.
The croquet funds scholarship is called the Dot and John Tankard Memorial Scholarship. The money raised for the scholarship will specifically be set aside for students in the Bath and Belhaven areas of Beaufort County.
