Finally, A Ferry!

School children in the Outer Banks town of Corolla will finally get a ferry to take them to school.

State and county officials agreed several years ago that a ferry
was the best way to get school children who live in Corolla back
and forth across the Currituck Sound.

The children had attended schools in adjacent Dare County, but
officials there said they no longer had room.

Currituck Commissioner Paul O'Neal says the new ferry should be
in operation before the next school year begins in August.
