U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole and U.S. Congressman G.K. Butterfield Comment on BRAC

North Carolina U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole is on the U.S. Senate's Armed Services Committee. WITN talked to her about the more than 600 jobs that Cherry Point could possibly lose outlined in the BRAC announcement Friday. The Senator said she would fight hard to keep those jobs and make sure that the data being used to reach that conclusion is accurate. North Carolina U.S. Congressman G.K. Butterfield, who represents our state's First District, is on the U.S. House Armed Services Committee. He says he hopes some of the job losses at Cherry Point will be offset by MV22 Osprey maintenance and repair operations currently scheduled to start there as part of the fiscal year 2006 defense plan. It's still unclear, he added, just how many jobs would be added and when they would begin.
