The Navy Research Center in Asheville, the Niven U.S. Army Reserve Center in Albemarle, Charlotte Douglas International Airport and the Army Research Office in Durham will all be impacted, most with losses. These four locations, however, only affect a few dozen people. Overall, the experts and most lawmakers say North Carolina escaped serious harm in the latest round of recommendations. It's important to again note these are recommendations. They do have to be approved by Congress and President Bush, which will probably take until fall.
