Second Attempt At Murder Trial

It's the second attempt at the murder trial of a suspect in Wayne County accused of killing a toddler. Eric Glenn Lane was charged back in May of 2002 for the first degree kidnapping, rape and murder of five year old Precious Whitfield of Patetown in Wayne County. As the first trail got underway last November, it was stopped because the judge found a potential juror in contempt of court for talking about the case. Since then, Lane has fired both court appointed attorneys and is representing himself. Jury selection in the second trial got started Monday. The judge has issued a gag order in the case, not allowing any of the attorneys to talk about the case during this trial. If found guilty, Lane could face the death penalty. Tuesday is the second day of jury selection.
