Sunday's gorgeous weather had many folks in Eastern Carolina heading to one of their favorite summer spots, the local pool.
That's what brought a number of families to the Gold's Gym pool Sunday, and gym officials were ready for the beginning crowds of this pool season. Officials said they spent nearly two months getting the pool cleaned and making sure all the chemicals were at their proper levels. But after that was done, pool officials say they have to employ the right people to keep the summer pool season a safe one. Four lifeguards are on duty at all times, with a head lifeguard roaming the pool area. Their pool is also checked 5 times a day to keep an eye on the proper chemical levels.
Gym officials said they will have seen thousands of people at this one pool alone by the time summer ends.
