Emergency workers responded to a most unusual call in New Bern Tuesday afternoon. Officials say a large crane was being moved in preparation for work at the end of Pollack Street and East Front Street, when it tipped over, partially landing in the water. No one was injured when the crane rolled over. There has so far been no fuel or fluid spills from the accident, but in order to right the crane, another crane will have to be brought in on a floating barge to lift it and pull it from the water.
