Martin County Commissioners Approve Increase in Occupancy Tax

Increasing and expanding was the goal Martin County commissioners wanted to get across Wednesday night. Martin County Manager, Russel Overman says a request was approved to double the occupancy tax to six percent from the three percent it is at now. Overman also says the county approved a request to expand the horse barn at the Bob Martin Agricultural Center. Overman says the expansion could help attract larger events to the center.
