Craven County officials had to set up a detour around Highway 17 after a nasty head on collision.

North Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers say it happened around 3:15 Sunday afternoon, and ended when two trucks hit head on. Troopers say 21 year old Brian Roebuck, the driver of a pickup fell asleep and went into the oncoming lane hitting a female pickup driver head on. The female has been sent to Pitt County Memorial Hospital with some serious injuries. Roebuck has since been charged with driving the wrong way on a two lane highway, but more charges could follow. The victim's name isn't being released until all family members have been notified.
