Authorities have charged a Bell Arthur resident for cruelty to animals, marking the second time horses have been seized in Pitt County this week.
Billy Stock of Bell Arthur was arrested by Pitt County Sheriff's Deputies earlier Friday, after he was served with several warrants for animal cruelty. Folks from the United States Equine Rescue League seized four of his malnourished horses. They will be taken to an undisclosed location.
Earlier this week, animal officials took six other horses from a location in Pitt County, and charged their owner with neglect.
