Court Appearance For Mother Accused Of Killing Four Daughters

A woman charged with killing her four daughters in a southeast
Washington D.C. neighborhood is scheduled to appear in court today.

Banita Jacks faces four counts of first-degree murder.

Police found the girls after an eviction notice was served on the family's apartment.

Officials say the girls had died 15 days before the decomposing bodies
were found in January. The girls were age 5 to 17.

The mother reportedly told officials the girls died in their sleep after being possessed by demons.

Jacks could get a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
