High Winds Kill Woman In Craven County

Sunday's high winds were responsible for at least one death in North Carolina.

A Bath woman was killed when a tree limb crashed into the windshield of the car she was riding in.

State troopers say it happened around 1:20 Sunday afternoon on Highway 17 in Craven County.

Karen Simmons died at the scene. The driver of the car, William Hall III of Bath was not injured in the accident four miles north of Bridgeton.
