CDC: Flu Widespread In North Carolina

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say the flu has reached its most severe level in terms of the number of people with the illness in our state.

The flu activity is now classified as "widespread" in North Carolina.

The CDC says it is possible to get the flu even if you've been vaccinated for it. That's because you could get infected with a strain different from the one for which you were vaccinated. Still, health officials encourage you to get vaccinated for the flu.
