Close to one quarter of the state's population is considered to be obese according to a yearly report by the University of Baltimore. The report comes in the form of a report card and the Tar Heel state scored a grade of "B." Every state in the nation was given a grade if they proposed or enacted legislation on combating obesity in adults as well as in children. Healthcare officials say not only does obesity impact our residents, but it also increases health care costs.
