Just four days after the Beaufort County board of commissioners voted to remove the Spanish speaking option off all county office phone systems, Friday during an emergency meeting, the health department voted to reinstate the language option.
It was an unanimous vote inside the Beaufort County health department Friday afternoon. The department will reinstate a Spanish speaking option on its phones system. They say the decision came after learning the department was in violation of section 6 under federal law. This violation could mean the lost of federal funding.
