American Red Cross workers from Onslow County are heading to help out tornado victims in Tennessee.

Tuesday night more than 50 people were killed as tornadoes swept across Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee.

The Onslow County Red Cross Chapter will send seven caseworkers to Sumner County, Tennessee where seven people were killed. Sumner County is about 30 miles northeast of Nashville.

The local Red Cross chapter says the deployment will have no effect on their local operations.
