It's Being Called a Miracle

It's being called a miracle, after a family suffers mild injuries in a single car accident, which traps one of the children underneath the vehicle. The accident happened just off Cherry Run Road Wednesday morning in Beaufort County around 9:30. The State Highway Patrol says a mother was traveling in her sports utility vehicle with her three children age seven and under when she fell asleep. They tell us the Ford Explorer flipped into a ditch and a little girl was thrown from the front seat and pinned under the vehicle. She was taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital by Eastcare. Officials say she is in stable condition. The Highway Patrol says there was only one car seat in the vehicle and the mother and two other kids were not seriously hurt. So what saved the little girl only buckled in the front seat? Lawmen say when the vehicle overturned, the roof of the vehicle actually caved in. She was trapped in the little area where the vehicle was caved in, between there and the ground. Charges have been filed against the mother for careless and reckless driving.
