Executive Changes At Reynolds American

Reynolds American Inc. says group president Jeffrey A. Eckmann will retire May 1.

The 55-year-old Eckmann will be replaced by 50-year-old Jeffery S. Gentry, who currently serves as executive vice president of research and development at subsidiary R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.

Presidents of three of Reynolds American's four operating companies will report to Gentry. They are Conwood Co., Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Co. and R.J. Reynolds Global Products.

The president of Reynolds Asia-Pacific Limited also will report to Gentry.
