What if weapons of mass destruction were discovered in Eastern Carolina? Pitt County's emergency management hope to never see that day, but they do want to be prepared just in case.
A multi-agency operation brought the National Guards 42nd civil support team from Greenville to the Pitt County Fairgrounds Wednesday morning. Marines from Cherry Point flew in along with member of Tennessee's National Guard. All of them came together to practice on getting local, state and federal resources together to diffuse a chemical or biological attack.
The county has to conduct at least two exercises like this a year.
