It's day two of beach weather here in Eastern Carolina. Temperatures in many areas reached the low 80s this afternoon.
It's been a record setting day all across the region. WITN Meteorologist Kristen Connolly says record highs were broken in four cities by 1:00 p.m.
New Bern reached 81 degrees, breaking a previous high of 74. Greenville hit 82, while the previous high for today was 74. The same was true for Washington, also with 82. In Kinston the temperature peaked at 81, five degrees over the previous record high for February 6th.
Jacksonville also set a new record for today, reaching 80 degrees.
