Updated: Fri 4:48 PM, Apr 22, 2005

Earth Day began with a grassroots effort and who better to carry on the tradition than kids? Students at Eastern Elementary in Beaufort County made it around fifteen or so stations that taught them all about the earth and the creatures that live on it. Some of the stations included real animals, like a pony and some rabbits, while other stops taught the kids about plants and herbs. Students said one of the coolest things they learned was that chocolate comes from a certain kind of tree.
